newsletter #15 | indefinite hiatus

Time to take a break and try something else.

I had written a rather long update on why I'm taking a break and the circumstances behind it but the TLDR version is essentially that I'm struggling to justify the time and effort I take to write something against the amount of views a piece might get.

While I have always written for myself and received positive feedback, it would be nice to know that people other than family or friends are reading it. Sadly, that isn’t the case.

Despite every effort to promote more and engage, the numbers aren’t budging and while numbers aren’t always the best indicator, they’re a good yardstick to measure and progress, to determine what is working and what isn’t.

If I’m truthful my writing is stuck in a rut and just not getting anywhere. I’ve been writing on and off for the past 7 years and I’m finding my head is now empty of inspiration and no idea how to move things forward.

So with that, I’m taking an indefinite break and spending time to work on other projects. This page isn’t going anywhere for now. I might return to it with fresh ideas, but I need to stop and think about something else for a bit.

Thanks to those that have supported me, read and shared. Maybe I'll see you out on the hill sometime.
